Easy 5 Volt Charger
![]() This
page is just to show a quick and easy way to house the buck
regulator PCB that I featured in my '5 Volt Solar Charger' project
where I go into more detail about this very useful little board.

that page. In this version, a single UK surface pattress box with
blanking plate is
used which has cutouts filed on each side for the connectors to enter
and exit, creating a neat and inexpensive enclosure for these boards. I
use
this with my 12 Volt Distribution Box to supply 5 volts to charge my phone and other USB powered gadgets from the sun.

12 volts input
is supplied via a short 2.1mm DC power lead and the output for the 5
volts is from a USB type C charging cable. Some charging cables have
longer plugs on them which may need a bit of 'creative' filing, but I got lucky with this one from Anker.
